Hiring Department Summary

The faculty of Communication Studies, Journalism and Film is of a community of professionals, educated and experienced in a diverse range of specialty areas, and united by a common body of information related to the creation, application, and understanding of messages. The department exists to provide quality instruction that assists students in becoming intellectually aware citizens who are ethical, competent communicators. Further, the department seeks to maintain and develop the body of scholarly knowledge that unites the field.

Essential Duties

- Teach undergraduate courses in digital video.
- Engage in scholarly and creative activities.
- Provide service to the institution and community.
- Advise students.

Required Qualifications

MFA in film or digital video production

Special Knowledge and Abilities:
- Experience in the practice of film and video production
- Demonstrate a strong record of professional and creative activity and exhibitions;
- Demostrated ability of or potential for excellence in teaching

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in one or more of the following: pre-production, production, post-production, sound, cinematography, screenwriting, and motion graphics.
- Experience with teaching at the university ievei
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population.
