Job Summary

Information Resources & Technology (IRT) provides essential information technology services for campus operations and innovative technology solutions to facilitate the accomplishment of strategic campus goals.

This position serves as the IT Coordinator for Sac State Downtown located on S Street. This position will report to the Associate Chief Information Officer with a dotted line to the Vice President for Public Affairs and Advocacy. This position will coordinate all aspects of IT support for Sac State Downtown. Scope will include support for faculty, staff, and students and their computers, peripherals, office machines, and classroom/conference room technology. This position will coordinate IT aspects of events and provide direct support for events that will involve engagement with representatives of the public and/or private sectors. This position will serve as a translator between the IT domain and the higher education/public policy domains. This position will be a very visible member of the Downtown Sac State team and serve as an agent of and liaison to Information Resources & Technology. This position will participate in some IRT projects and attend IRT meetings on a recurring basis.
This position will work 8 – 5 or equivalent schedule based on business needs. This position will work some evenings and weekends to support events or instruction; flex time will be provided.

FLSA Exempt - This position is covered by health benefits, and is exempt, (not eligible for overtime compensation) according to the Fair Labor Standards Act.

4,372 – 9,877 monthly

Hiring Range $4,372.00 - $5,833.00; Starting salary for very well qualified candidates will typically be near the mid-point of the hiring range

Minimum Qualifications

To enter this classification, a basic foundation of knowledge and skills in technical information systems and application program packages is a prerequisite. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study. Foundation knowledge and skills for the Information Technology Consultant, depending on the nature of the position assignment, may include working knowledge of common software application packages, equipment platforms, reference database systems and sources, and training methods and a basic understanding of networks, data communication, and multimedia systems.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
2. Experience using and supporting industry standard computers, operating systems, software, and peripherals.
3. Experience managing or participating in IT Projects.

6. Demonstrated ability to gather information, identify solutions, and provide computer, software, and A/V support consistent with campus-wide standards and practices.

8. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
9. Demonstrated initiative to collaborate with colleagues and continuously improve services and processes.
10. Some experience coordinating IT aspects of events and a high level of experience and comfort interacting with the public.
11. Demonstrated ability to prioritize requests based on organizational impact and ask for assistance when needed.
12. Demonstrated initiative to provide proactive and preventive support.

Preferred Qualifications

13. Two years experience in higher education or the public sector.
14. Experience teaching others to use technology – individuals and groups.
15. Experience supporting office machines and classroom/conference room technology such as projectors, controllers (e.g. keypads, touchscreens), document cameras, etc.
16. Experience with A/V equipment such as microphones and speakers.
17. Some experience with most of the following: PeopleSoft, Office365, Canvas, Mediasite, Zoom, and Adobe CreativeSuite.
18. Ability to identify networking, telecommunications, or security issues and escalate to colleagues.
19. Some experience making documents/websites accessible.
