Job Summary

Under the direction of the AA/S NE, EES I, EES II or designated HEERA manager, the ASC II is responsible for the planning, delivery, promotion, evaluation, and tracking of various courses, programs, workshops, seminars, and special events with a high level of complexity. The senior program coordinator serves as lead in meetings with other departments regarding courses, recommends changes to current processes, serves as a point of contact for program information (internally and externally), represents the program at industry events, and provides training to ASA II, ASC I, or temporary assistants. The senior program coordinator’s responsibilities are completed using both established policies and procedures and major deviations from these processes. Supervisory review is sought for any extreme deviation prior to implementation. The supervisor sets broad goals and objectives for the position.

The senior program coordinator will be primarily responsible for implementing ongoing student services, new student recruitment, and day-to-day coordination of academic programs. The senior program coordinator will also be responsible for documenting organizational policies, procedures and best practices.

FLSA Non-Exempt - This position is covered by health benefits, and is non-exempt, (eligible for overtime compensation) according to the Fair Labor Standards Act.

$3,115.00-$5,161.00 monthly

Minimum Qualifications

Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.

These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.

Required Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience using standard office software programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Internet Explorer)
2. Experience in using independent judgment and decision making
3. Experience being quality oriented (accurate, timely, responsive to customers’ needs).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
4. Thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures, and practices.
5. Good communication skills (written and verbal).
6. Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills
7. Problem solving, analytical and conflict resolution skills
8. Basic knowledge of some marketing principles, strategies, techniques and practices.
9. Team oriented and ability to give lead work direction to support staff.
10. Strong project, implementation, and program management skills
11. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures
12. Ability to perform standard business math, such as calculate ratios and percentages, track financial data, and make simple projections
13. Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of staff and external constituencies
14. Ability to use negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve results and expedite projects.

OTHER:
15. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
